Diskan plans to add AI-driven marketing tools for cross-selling and upselling, positioning the company to meet high demand in a largely untapped B2B market.
Simplisales, founded by Ihsan Diskan, has developed an AI-powered platform to modernize B2B e-commerce. Inspired by his B2C experience, Diskan launched Simplisales to address B2B wholesalers’ lack of digital tools. Diskan’s idea began in 2019 after helping a London food wholesaler create an e-commerce app. In 2020, another wholesaler in Dublin requested a similar app, highlighting a need for streamlined, integrated digital ordering. Now, Simplisales is working to address complex issues in B2B e-commerce that its founder says “just screamed to be fixed.”
With Simplisales, B2B wholesalers and distributors can create custom-branded websites and apps for 24/7 ordering. Integrated with no-code ERP, this setup ensures real-time access to pricing, inventory, and customer data. Diskan claims, “This solution strengthens customer relationships by keeping platforms up-to-date.” Simplisales’ platform refreshes ERP data every five minutes, giving users the latest information while reducing errors and manual work. Its AI-powered approach is tailored to enhance the e-commerce experience for B2B clients, many of whom still rely on phone orders and in-person sales reps.
One unique aspect of B2B retail is the high average order value. Diskan shared, “The average B2B retail order is €830, around 20 times that of Amazon.” Simplisales has attracted large clients with turnovers reaching €100M. Since launch, the platform has generated over €20M in GMV, including €1M last month alone. The company’s AI tools support custom pricing by supplier and customer, providing additional privacy for sensitive B2B transactions. By eliminating dependency on manual processes, Simplisales clients report sales increases averaging 12.5%.
The B2B e-commerce market remains largely untapped, with only 8% of wholesale orders placed online. Simplisales sees huge potential, as the UK has over 100,000 wholesalers, and the US more than 600,000. The company plans to expand its AI tools for marketing, cross-selling, and upselling. Diskan’s vision for Simplisales is to revolutionize B2B retail by providing a seamless, reliable customer experience. Simplisales is poised to fill a significant market gap by meeting wholesalers’ digital needs and helping them retain and grow their client base.
