Wolt now allows users to send gifts with a personal message. Valentine’s Day orders for flowers and gifts surged globally, with Germany leading in pre-orders.
Wolt has introduced a Valentine’s Day gift delivery feature. Users can select gifts from restaurants, grocery stores, and brands like BUTLERS, LUSH, and AMORELIE. A personal message and a digital greeting card can be added at checkout. The recipient tracks the order via SMS without needing a Wolt account.
Wolt’s 2024 Valentine’s Day data shows a 50% increase in flower shops. Global flower orders rose 37 times compared to regular days. Over 50% of retail purchases included sweets or flowers. Demand for sexual wellness products was 5 times higher than usual.
Unlike last-minute shoppers elsewhere, 22% of Germans pre-ordered flowers, the highest rate globally. Estonia, Sweden, and Iceland followed. Japan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia had the most spontaneous orders. Flowers remain Germany’s top Wolt gift year-round.
Germans favor combining dinner with gifts. On Valentine’s Day, 27% of flower buyers also ordered meals. Wolt’s new feature simplifies gifting, making last-minute surprises and planned gestures easier than ever.
Will Wolt’s gift feature change last-minute Valentine’s shopping?
