Shein-branded outlets have appeared in several cities in Spain and the Netherlands, but they are unauthorized. Shein warns these stores aren't affiliated with the company. The situation is growing, with Shein confirming it sells products only via its official online platforms.
Recently, unauthorized Shein-branded stores have popped up on high streets in Spain and the Netherlands. Stores in cities like Arnhem, Breda, and The Hague are displaying the Shein name, but the Chinese fashion giant denies any connection to these outlets. Shein’s spokesperson emphasized that these stores are not authorized and the products sold might not be authentic. The rise of these unapproved stores is confusing consumers, especially since Shein is known for its exclusively online retail presence.
Earlier this year, a store in Zaragoza, Spain, opened under the name "Glü Stock Shein," raising questions about its legitimacy. The shopping center promoted the store as a new Shein concept. However, after media reports surfaced, it became clear that Shein had no connection to the store. This case highlights the growing trend of unauthorized Shein stores. Shein has warned consumers about the potential risks of buying from these fake outlets, including possible low-quality products.
Shein has built its brand around an online shopping experience. The company offers its fast-fashion products only through its official website and app. Shein occasionally experiments with physical pop-up stores, but these are clearly communicated through its social media channels. These pop-up shops are temporary and sometimes only showcase items without selling them, further confusing customers. Any offline retail experience outside these official channels is unauthorized.
Shein is actively taking steps against these fake outlets, though the scale of the problem remains unclear. It is unknown how many unauthorized stores operate across Europe. However, the company reaffirmed that it’s working to shut down these operations. The spokesperson warned shoppers that these stores cannot guarantee the authenticity or quality of products. Shein encourages customers to use its official platforms to ensure they are purchasing genuine products.
