AliExpress is bringing major discounts to UK shoppers with its 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, running from 11th to 18th November and extending through Black Friday and Cyber Monday until 3rd December. Shoppers can find deals of up to 80% off on items from tech to beauty. AliExpress’s recent survey of 2,000 Brits shows a surprising trend—25% rarely treat themselves, with many citing budget constraints and guilt. AliExpress hopes to change that by encouraging self-care with affordable holiday discounts.
The 11.11 festival introduces “Shake & Win,” where UK shoppers can ‘shake’ their phones daily to unlock prizes. Rewards include discount vouchers, Hello Fresh deals, and signed items from UK artist Sam Tompkins. The Shake & Win game aims to make shopping more engaging, combining savings with the thrill of winning. This interactive feature reflects AliExpress’s goal to create a fun, value-packed experience for shoppers as they navigate holiday deals.
AliExpress is also hosting live shopping events, kicking off with a fashion livestream on 10th November at 8PM GMT, featuring curated styles and exclusive discounts. From November 12th, there will be daily 4-hour livestreams focused on budget-friendly products. These live sessions will run on the AliExpress app and TikTok, enabling UK shoppers to explore deals in real time. The addition of livestreams reflects AliExpress’s commitment to combining value and engagement in online shopping.
AliExpress’s survey also highlights that Brits are less likely to self-gift compared to their European counterparts, with 22% citing financial limitations as the main barrier. Women in particular feel the weight of financial restrictions, with 26% noting budget concerns versus 18% of men. Meanwhile, Gen Z shoppers show a trend toward self-care, with 68% treating themselves at least every two months. With AliExpress’s 11.11 discounts, shoppers are encouraged to indulge in affordable, guilt-free purchases.
