As of November 11, 2024, Starbucks customers in the U.S. and Canada can now order delivery via the Starbucks app. This feature enhances customer convenience and reflects double-digit growth in U.S. delivery demand.
Starting November 11, 2024, Starbucks launched a new delivery feature in its app. Customers in the U.S. and Canada, excluding Quebec, can now order their favorite drinks and snacks using the Starbucks app. This partnership utilizes the DoorDash Commerce Platform, offering a seamless delivery service. Previously, Starbucks had experimented with delivery in select markets since 2022.
With the new feature, customers can easily switch between Pickup and Delivery. Starbucks aims to create a unified digital experience for users living within the delivery radius of participating stores. “Delivery within the Starbucks app...creates a unified digital experience,” the company stated. This marks a significant step forward in enhancing customer convenience.
Starbucks first partnered with DoorDash in September 2022. Before this, the company chose Uber Eats as its delivery partner in July 2019 and has worked with Postmates since 2015. In January 2023, Starbucks expanded its DoorDash collaboration based on successful pilot results, indicating strong customer interest in delivery options.
Meg Mathes, Starbucks’ VP of Digital Experiences, noted that customer demand for delivery is increasing. “Customer demand for Starbucks delivery continues to increase, as evidenced by double-digit growth in the U.S. delivery business,” she stated. This reflects the evolving preferences of consumers seeking convenience.
