La Reboucle, La Redoute's second-hand platform, is enhancing its children's clothing segment. Since its 2021 launch and 2023 repositioning, it now offers nearly 30,000 kids' items. This move addresses the growing demand for affordable, sustainable children's fashion.
Partnering with specialists like Family Affaire and Kidstorie, La Reboucle aims to strengthen its market position. Edouard Roussel, Global Partnerships Director, emphasizes their role as a "trusted third party," ensuring a seamless experience for customers purchasing second-hand items via La Redoute's platform.
The global second-hand apparel market was valued at $197 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $350 billion by 2028. In France, 36% of clothing consumers have tried second-hand shopping, highlighting a significant shift towards sustainable purchasing.
Parents are increasingly opting for second-hand clothes to save money and reduce environmental impact. Roussel notes that buying new clothes, worn briefly by growing children, isn't ideal. Choosing pre-owned items supports both financial savings and corporate social responsibility.
