DoorDash now lets iOS users sync grocery lists from Apple's Reminders app. It suggests items for quick cart building, with Android support coming soon. This feature enhances convenience and competition with Grubhub and Instacart.
DoorDash has introduced a feature that allows iOS users to sync their grocery lists from Apple’s Reminders app directly into the DoorDash app. This innovation saves time by recommending items to add to your cart automatically. Users can also manually paste or create lists within the app. Android support is expected soon, making this tool more accessible to a broader audience. The new tool highlights DoorDash’s drive to outpace competitors like Instacart, Uber Eats, and Grubhub in grocery delivery.
To use the feature, select a store and tap “Create a list” or “Import a list.” The create option allows manual typing or pasting lists, including recipes. The import option syncs with the Reminders app on iOS. Items like onions or spices appear with options for easy selection. This eliminates the hassle of searching for items individually. With one click, you can quickly add multiple items to your cart. DoorDash’s update is designed to reduce the time spent on routine grocery tasks.
DoorDash announced the feature as part of its holiday update rollout. New tools include multi-store order bundling and free Bon Appétit recipes with one-tap ingredient ordering. DoorDash also revamped its search for retail products, starting with alcohol and expanding soon to beauty and electronics. Holiday-specific deals, like discounted DashPass memberships for SNAP/EBT users at $4.99/month, further extend convenience and savings.
Adding grocery list sync not only benefits users but also strengthens DoorDash's position against competitors. Swiggy, an Indian platform, recently tested a similar feature allowing grocery list uploads. As DoorDash integrates more innovations like bundle ordering and partnerships with leading brands, it continues reshaping how people shop for essentials. This proactive approach positions DoorDash as a key player in the evolving food and retail delivery landscape.
