Flexport and Passport team up to provide a streamlined DDP option for North American brands shipping globally. This new partnership enhances the global reach of Flexport's clients, enabling them to sell in 180+ countries.
On August 8, 2024, Flexport and Passport announced a partnership that will simplify international shipping for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. Flexport, a global supply chain technology leader, will integrate Passport’s Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) option, making it easier for merchants to ship from the U.S. to over 180 countries. This collaboration allows brands to pre-pay import duties, streamlining the shipping process and improving customer satisfaction.
Passport’s DDP solution ensures consumers pay duties and taxes upfront at checkout, eliminating unexpected fees and reducing cart abandonment. According to Chris Ziomek, VP of Sales at Passport, this partnership will empower merchants to grow their international revenue, simplifying customs and providing transparency in pricing. The DDP program aligns with Flexport's mission to make global commerce more accessible, offering a hassle-free shopping experience for consumers and a smoother customs process for sellers.
Flexport’s integration with Passport is part of its broader suite of logistics solutions, which includes international ocean and air freight, customs brokerage, and more. Alex Berry, VP of Omnichannel and Fulfillment at Flexport, emphasized that the partnership addresses customer demand for more global growth options, allowing brands to efficiently enter new markets. Flexport's technology unifies supply chain management, from factory floor to customer door, now enhanced by Passport's DDP offering.
This partnership is a significant step in Passport’s strategy to collaborate with top logistics and supply chain technology providers. With previous collaborations including EasyPost and Loop Returns, Passport continues to disrupt global commerce. By joining forces with Flexport, they aim to make it easier for North American brands to scale internationally, providing the tools and support necessary to succeed in new geographic markets. This partnership represents a key advancement in global DTC commerce.
