DoorDash introduces the DoorDash Commerce Platform, offering merchants tools to manage and grow their businesses across in-store and online channels. The platform includes features like branded mobile apps, AI-powered phone ordering, and a revamped Business Manager App.
On September 25, 2024, DoorDash launched a new Commerce Platform designed to empower merchants with the tools they need to manage and grow their businesses. This platform includes five core products that merchants can customize to suit their unique needs. Whether in-store or online, these tools provide businesses with new ways to connect with customers and boost sales. The platform allows for on-demand delivery, commission-free online ordering, and AI-powered phone orders, among other features. DoorDash is focused on helping merchants succeed by offering a comprehensive set of tools for direct customer engagement.
As part of the new platform, DoorDash introduced Online Ordering Mobile Apps, enabling restaurants to create their own branded apps for iOS and Android. These apps help restaurants increase customer loyalty and order frequency by offering a seamless experience across marketing and ordering channels. The apps are designed to meet customers at various touchpoints and encourage direct orders. Restaurants like 3Natives have already seen success, reporting a 71% increase in reorder rates through their mobile app compared to web customers.
DoorDash has also revamped its Business Manager App to better serve merchants on the go. The updated app includes expanded features like quick access to payouts, sales tracking, and marketing campaign management. These updates respond to merchant feedback, acknowledging the need for tools that are not only efficient but also flexible. The app's new features make it easier for busy restaurant owners to manage their operations from anywhere, anytime, without needing to be at a computer.
Merchants are already seeing the benefits of these new tools. Prabir Adarkar, President and COO of DoorDash, emphasized the company's commitment to helping local merchants thrive. "The restaurant industry has faced significant challenges, and it's more important than ever for merchants to find innovative ways to grow," he said. Joseph Kim, CEO of bb.q Chicken, highlighted the convenience and efficiency that the platform brings, particularly in enhancing their digital transformation efforts. With these tools, DoorDash aims to support merchants in building lasting, direct relationships with their customers.
