Ted Baker, a British fashion brand, is expected to close several stores in the Netherlands and Belgium. This comes after its European partner AARC failed to meet financial obligations, affecting 19 total locations. Authentic Brands Group ended its partnership with AARC in February 2024.
Ted Baker, a well-known British fashion label, plans to close stores in the Netherlands and Belgium. This decision follows financial troubles faced by its European operator, AARC, who managed these locations under the ownership of Authentic Brands Group. The closures will impact four stores and 15 shop-in-shops in the region.
Branches in the Benelux countries are directly impacted. AARC's inability to stabilize financially has prompted these changes, affecting overall operations in these markets. Authentic Brands Group, the parent company, has confirmed job cuts in the UK as part of this restructuring.
In February 2024, Authentic Brands Group discontinued its partnership with AARC due to failed financial commitments. They had provided a short-term loan to AARC during a critical financial shortfall, which AARC could not repay nor meet other financial terms as agreed.
As of now, both Authentic Brands Group and Ted Baker have not officially commented on the upcoming store closures. This has left employees and customers awaiting further announcements regarding the future of these locations.
Will Ted Baker's strategy affect its brand value?
