Grubhub introduces new app features, including priority delivery for $2.49, personalized recommendations, and live tracking on iOS devices. These updates aim to enhance user experience and increase order frequency.
Grubhub, a leading on-demand delivery platform, has significantly expanded its app functionality. The platform now offers six new features aimed at improving user experience. Key updates include priority delivery for faster service at $2.49 and personalized recommendations. This move comes as part of Grubhub’s effort to stay competitive in the fast-evolving food delivery market. According to Kiran Chandran, VP of consumer product, Grubhub is committed to enhancing the app to make ordering food easier and more enjoyable.
One of the most notable additions is priority delivery. For $2.49, users can now receive their orders faster. Grubhub+ members enjoy this feature at a discounted rate and, for a limited time, can try it for free. Availability varies by location, depending on delivery supply in the area. The addition of priority delivery could make Grubhub more attractive to time-sensitive customers, potentially boosting order frequency and user satisfaction.
Grubhub has also introduced a more personalized experience with over 30 recommendation carousels on the app’s homepage. These recommendations are tailored based on user history, time, and location. For instance, returning users see suggestions related to their previous orders, while new users receive recommendations based on trending items. Grubhub hopes this will increase the likelihood of users placing orders, both now and in the future.
Other upgrades include live activity tracking for iOS users, allowing them to monitor their order's progress directly from their home screen, and a self-service feature for reporting issues with orders. The new Grubhub Wallet feature also helps users better manage their credits before placing an order, leading to higher utilization rates. With these updates, Grubhub is positioning itself as a leader in convenience and customer satisfaction in the food delivery industry.
