Fiverr now lets freelancers train AI on their work, sell AI-generated content, and automate client interactions with a chatbot for $29/month.
Fiverr is bringing AI to the gig economy. On Tuesday, CEO Micha Kaufman announced new AI tools to help freelancers scale their work. The “Personal AI Creation Model” allows voice-over artists, designers, and writers to train AI on their past work. Freelancers can then sell AI-generated content at their own set prices. Fiverr says this ensures freelancers stay “irreplaceable, not obsolete.”
The AI creation model isn’t free. Fiverr is charging $25 per month for freelancers to use it. Additionally, Fiverr is launching a $29/month chatbot assistant. This tool automates customer communication using past client chats. Fiverr insists it won’t use freelancer data to train internal AI models. However, some gig workers worry about losing control over their work.
Freelancers are already struggling with AI competition. Reports show that AI tools like ChatGPT are reducing demand for writers and programmers. Fiverr’s move could help freelancers monetize AI instead of being replaced by it. However, those who don’t opt in may find it harder to compete in an increasingly AI-driven gig economy.
To sweeten the deal, Fiverr is offering company shares to top freelancers. Details are vague, but Fiverr says high performers will earn stock rewards. Fiverr’s market cap sits at $1.16B, with stock performance fluctuating. This move could help retain top talent, but without specifics, freelancers are left guessing how much they’ll actually benefit.
Will Fiverr’s AI tools help or hurt freelancers?
