Lidl is the first supermarket to sell directly on TikTok Shop. On 20 Feb at 9 AM, it drops 3,000 exclusive protein bundles. Each bundle costs £5 but is worth £30. Proceeds go to NSPCC. It’s a bold move into social commerce.
The bundles include IronMaxx Whey Protein, Belbake Pancake Mix, and Crownfield Flapjacks. Also, Lidl throws in branded merch—microfibre towel and resistance bands. A fun way to promote its high-protein range, which sells 150 units per minute in stores.
Over 1.69B people use TikTok, and 33% buy through the app. More than 50% use it for shopping ideas. ASOS and Boots are already there, so Lidl is tapping into a fast-growing digital marketplace.
Lidl Plus members get 25% off chilled high-protein products in-store. A clever way to drive both online and offline engagement. Lidl is mixing social commerce with real-world discounts to win customers.
Will more supermarkets follow Lidl into TikTok Shop?
