Amazon Prime Video is launching "Buy It Now," a Shark Tank-style show hosted by JB Smoove. Contestants pitch their product ideas to a panel of celebrity judges, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Anthony Anderson, and Tony Hawk. The show has a twist — contestants will also face "The 100," an audience that votes on their ideas. Contestants who pass the vote may get their products sold on a dedicated section of Amazon’s store.
💰 $20K Prize and a New Amazon Store
A highlight of each episode is a $20,000 prize for one contestant, in addition to the opportunity to sell on Amazon’s Buy It Now Store. This new storefront will showcase winning products, and viewers can purchase them by scanning a QR code displayed during episodes. The store will launch alongside the show’s premiere on October 30, 2024. Amazon executives and Ring founder Jamie Siminoff will also be part of the judging panel.
📅 Star-Studded Lineup and 13 Episodes
The show will feature a rotating celebrity panel. These panelists will include entrepreneurs and celebrities like Tabitha Brown and Christian Siriano, alongside Amazon executives. “Buy It Now” is expected to run for 13 episodes, airing weekly until January 8, 2025. Viewers can tune in for the first three episodes starting October 30. A weekly behind-the-scenes podcast titled "This is Small Business: Behind the Buy" will also provide additional insights into the episodes.
