Ikea is testing a secondhand furniture marketplace in Madrid and Oslo. The platform, Ikea Preowned, allows users to sell their used Ikea furniture to others. Participants can choose to receive payment through a bank transfer or an Ikea gift card. The gift card comes with an additional 15% bonus on the selling price, incentivizing customers to keep shopping at Ikea. There are no fees to create listings at the moment, but Ingka Group CEO Jesper Brodin hinted at a possible "symbolic fee" in the future.

Buyers and sellers must arrange their own meetups to exchange the furniture, as Ikea does not handle delivery or returns.
