eBay’s AI-powered Magical Bulk Listing Tool speeds up product listings by auto-filling titles and categories using images. Starting with sports trading cards, eBay plans to expand to other categories soon.
At eBay Open 2024, eBay revealed its new AI-powered Magical Bulk Listing Tool. This tool allows sellers to upload multiple product images at once, with the AI instantly generating product titles, categories, and item specifics. Initially, it’s available for sports trading cards but will soon support more categories. eBay is focusing on helping sellers save time. The tool’s AI analyzes images and provides ready-to-use listings with minimal manual input.
This tool is expected to be a game-changer for sellers who manage large inventories. It works by leveraging advanced image recognition to identify items and automatically generate details. "Sellers can now list high volumes of products quickly, which will significantly reduce their workload," said an eBay spokesperson. After the AI generates the listings, sellers can review and make any final adjustments before publishing.
The tool's first focus is on sports trading cards, a fast-growing segment on eBay’s platform. This makes sense given the huge number of unique items in this category, which can be time-consuming to list manually. eBay has confirmed that other categories will soon benefit from this AI tool, promising a broader impact across the marketplace. "We are excited to bring this technology to more sellers soon," the company announced.
Alongside the Magical Bulk Listing Tool, eBay has rolled out improvements to its Seller Hub and mobile tools. These changes make it easier for sellers to manage listings, track performance, and update product details. For mobile users, this could mean running an entire business on the go, with less reliance on desktop interfaces. eBay's commitment to automating processes and offering seller support could solidify its lead in the eCommerce space.
