Grubhub has teamed up with Albertsons Cos. to offer nationwide grocery delivery from nearly 1,800 stores. This makes Albertsons the first national grocery retailer on Grubhub, joining its Marketplace for delivery. Craig Whitmer, Grubhub's VP of New Verticals, said, "We’re pleased to grow our grocery offering with Albertsons Cos. and give customers the opportunity to conveniently place their grocery orders within Grubhub."
Customers can now order from Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, and Tom Thumb through the Grubhub app and website. Store availability will depend on delivery locations. Amber Kappa, VP of Business Development and Digital Innovation at Albertsons Cos., stated, "With our latest collaboration with Grubhub, shoppers can receive fresh produce, household essentials, and regional favorites directly from our stores to their homes with a simple tap on Grubhub."
Albertsons stores will be available on Grubhub+, Grubhub’s loyalty program, which offers unlimited $0 delivery on eligible orders. This addition enhances the benefits for Grubhub+ subscribers, providing more options and value. The integration of Albertsons stores into Grubhub+ aims to maximize customer convenience and satisfaction.
