DoorDash opens its Accelerator for Local Restaurants program to foodservice operators in D.C. and Minneapolis, offering tailored programming, partnerships, and a $5,000 grant to foster community connection and revenue growth.
DoorDash, the renowned grocery delivery platform, has flung open the doors of opportunity to local restaurants with its Accelerator for Local Restaurants program. Targeting eateries in Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis, the initiative welcomes a variety of food businesses from food trucks to brick-and-mortar restaurants. The goal? To equip 40 business owners with new revenue streams and tighter community bonds through custom programming and strategic partnerships.
Bridge for Billions, along with local partners like Hospitality Minnesota and DMV Black Restaurant Week, are collaborating to provide a mix of in-person and online learning experiences. This synergy aims to enhance the business acumen of participating restaurants, making them less reliant on a single income source and integrating them more deeply into their local ecosystems.
"Participating in DoorDash's 2023 Accelerator for Local Restaurants helped us grow our business," shared Henry Mates from Caridad in New York City. This testimonial highlights the tangible benefits of the program, like debt reduction and the exploration of new revenue avenues, including product sales. It’s a compelling showcase of how strategic support can revitalize local dining establishments.
With a deadline of May 1, the program is a beacon for local restaurants planning to diversify their income. Eligibility criteria include having fewer than three locations, being in business for over two years, and employing less than 50 people per location. Successful applicants will receive a $5,000 grant, marking a significant step towards financial resilience and innovation.
