Uber Eats partners with Michelin-star chef Simon Rogan for a $100 (or £80) five-course delivery menu. Ingredients come from Rogan's Cumbrian farm, with local meat, electric vehicles, and seaweed packaging enhancing sustainability.
Uber Eats has announced a new collaboration with Simon Rogan, its first partnership with a chef holding three Michelin stars. Rogan, owner of L’Enclume in the Lake District, crafted a five-course menu using ingredients from his farm. The special £80 (around $100) meal will be available in London for two nights in September. Rogan stated, "I’m delighted to be partnering with Uber Eats to shine a light on some of the very best produce we’re able to grow and source in this country." This exclusive collaboration continues Uber Eats' trend of teaming up with renowned chefs, following partnerships with Gareth Ward and Brooklyn Beckham.
Uber Eats has emphasized the sustainability of this menu. The ingredients include locally sourced meat and fish, such as beef short rib from Lake District Farmers and bay shrimp from Morecambe Bay. Electric delivery vehicles and seaweed-based packaging add to the initiative's green credentials. Uber Eats said it’s their "most sustainable menu yet," aligning with Rogan's eco-friendly philosophy. Rogan noted, “Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do,” further highlighting the collaboration’s eco-conscious focus.
The five-course menu includes intricate dishes such as Park House pudding glazed in birch sap and a salad featuring 51 ingredients from Rogan's farm. The main course is a heritage breed short rib served with fermented cabbage, chanterelles, and beef sauce. A bay shrimp custard also features, alongside a drinks pairing of Champagne and 2022 Crozes-Hermitage. Dessert brings compressed strawberries and sweet herbs from Rogan's farm. The menu reflects Rogan's farm-to-table ethos and culinary innovation.
This special menu will be available on Uber Eats in London for two nights only: September 18 and 19, 2024. On the first night, access is limited to Uber One members, while the second is open to all users. The availability window is from 5 pm to 10 pm each night, giving customers the chance to experience high-end dining in the comfort of their homes. For more information or to place an order, customers are directed to visit the Uber Eats website.
