Just Eat has partnered with Pop Specs to deliver prescription eyewear in under 30 minutes across six UK cities. The partnership will expand to 30 stores by year-end, offering 80+ designs. This move follows Just Eat's ventures into health & beauty and toy deliveries.
Just Eat, known for food delivery, has partnered with Pop Specs to deliver prescription glasses in under 30 minutes. This partnership initially includes eight stores in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, and Sheffield. Customers can choose from over 80 eyewear designs, each available with prescription lenses and cases.
By the end of 2024, Just Eat plans to expand the service to 30 stores. Amy Heather, Just Eat UK's strategic accounts director, said, "Our latest partnership with Pop Specs is a strong example of how Just Eat can work with retailers to enable everyday convenience through rapid, on-demand delivery." This initiative marks another step in Just Eat's strategy to support the busy lives of its customers by offering what they want whenever they need it.
In March, Just Eat entered the health & beauty market by partnering with Pyramid Pharmacy. The app now lists a variety of items, including perfume, makeup, first aid essentials, and flu remedies. Additionally, Just Eat launched a dedicated Lego store before Christmas, allowing parents to order toys for rapid delivery. Just Eat is also working with florists to sell last-minute bouquets.
Just Eat UK MD Claire Pointon said, "We’re at the foothills of these things and they will expand." Pop Specs, which received a £75,000 investment for 12% of the business on Dragons’ Den, is excited about the partnership. Founder Daniel Barnes said, "Working with Just Eat, we’re able to expand our offer to reach customers at home – which means if you can’t get to Pop Specs, Pop Specs will come to you." To celebrate, Pop Specs is offering an exclusive orange glasses design only available via Just Eat.
