Alibaba Group Holding has launched a new pan-clothing global free shipping plan to support clothing merchants on Taobao and Tmall. Eligible merchants can now sell products directly to international consumers, with Alibaba covering shipping costs to several Asian markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.

Merchants in the pan-fashion category, which includes men's and women's garments, sports apparel, shoes, and accessories, can participate in the program. These merchants only need to send their goods to designated consolidation warehouses in China. Alibaba then manages the cross-border logistics, simplifying the process for sellers and ensuring a smooth delivery experience for buyers.

Alibaba's strategy intensifies competition with Shein and Temu. Shein has grown rapidly with its efficient supply chain and attractive pricing. Alibaba’s smart logistics arm Cainiao and e-commerce unit AliExpress have already expanded their five-day global delivery service to the US, Germany, France, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico.
