Wolt’s $13 monthly Wolt+ plan debuts in Israel with no delivery fees and discounts. Leadership changes focus on retail growth and global expansion strategies.
Wolt launched Wolt+ in Israel on January 21, 2025, offering customers zero delivery fees. The $13/month (NIS 49) subscription allows free delivery from restaurants within 4 km, requiring a $16.3 (NIS 60) minimum. For supermarkets and pharmacies, the minimum is $38.1 (NIS 140). Tomer Cohen, CEO of Wolt Israel, called it a “leap in consumer experience.”
Israelis can enjoy new features like "Payless Monday," which gives 10,000 users weekly discount codes. A price comparison filter helps customers save money, while “Wolt Package” lets users send packages between locations. Dynamic operating fees, averaging $1.1 (NIS 4), have also been introduced. These updates aim to improve convenience and flexibility.
Wolt has announced key leadership appointments as it expands retail globally. Christian Urban (ex-foodpanda) is the new Global Head of Grocery. Nils Salzmann, formerly at Amazon, is Global Head of Commercial, and Arusha Imtiaz (formerly Alibaba) now leads strategy. VP of New Verticals, Panos Karouzos, highlighted their focus on boosting retail partnerships and innovation.
Wolt’s retail segment now makes up 20% of its global sales, with over 100M retail orders completed. It became one of Europe’s top 15 online grocers in 2024. The Israeli market, with growing demand for online shopping, is key to Wolt’s strategy. Wolt+ and the strengthened leadership team aim to meet these needs while driving innovation and growth globally.
How will Wolt’s new team drive growth in Israel and globally?
