Simon Property Group has rebranded and expanded its online marketplace to ShopSimon, according to a press release from September 6, 2024. The platform now includes sale and discounted merchandise from over 360 retailers. Brands like Adidas, American Eagle, Cole Haan, and Hugo Boss will offer products, alongside outlet merchandise. With this move, Simon is aiming to provide a more streamlined shopping experience online and offline.
The company reported that it attracts over 153M annual online visits to its consumer websites and more than 2B visits to its retail properties. Simon is using its massive physical and digital presence to launch ShopSimon, which will offer retailers control over pricing, product assortments, and marketing. CEO David Simon emphasized that this is part of their strategy to integrate the entire retail ecosystem and cater to modern shoppers.
ShopSimon also introduces advanced features such as image-based product searches and color filters, making it easier for customers to find what they want. Additionally, the platform integrates Simon’s physical shopping centers, enabling same-day pick-up for items. This comes after testing similar features in 2022, showing Simon’s commitment to omnichannel shopping.
Simon’s expansion into e-commerce reflects its desire to evolve with changing consumer habits. "ShopSimon is yet another example of how we are bringing the retail ecosystem together," said David Simon. Lee Sterling, Simon’s chief marketing officer, added that the platform is key to driving loyalty and sales by meeting consumers' changing preferences. Simon continues to adapt its strategy in a rapidly shifting market.
