Shopify and YouTube have deepened their partnership as of August 2024. Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants in the U.S. can now access YouTube Shopping’s affiliate program through Shopify’s Google & YouTube app. This allows these merchants to leverage YouTube’s vast platform, where over 30B hours of shopping-related content were watched in 2023. The partnership enables merchants to have their products tagged by creators, helping brands reach new audiences effortlessly.
With this expansion, Shopify merchants can join hundreds of U.S. brands already using YouTube Shopping to reach millions of potential customers. The integration allows merchants to manage their participation in the affiliate program directly through Google Merchant Center, offering an easy way to track analytics, monitor content, and manage products. Notable brands like BK Beauty, Popflex, HexClad, and GoPure Beauty are already part of the program.
YouTube creators also stand to benefit from this partnership. They will now have access to a larger pool of brands to tag in their videos, increasing their potential earnings. A new Chrome extension makes it easier for creators to save products from Shopify brands while browsing online. This tool simplifies the process of tagging these products in their content, helping creators monetize their influence more efficiently.
