Megan Mergener, Grubhub's senior director of logistics, emphasized that the streamlined access “has translated to smoother experiences for our customers,” with drivers completing deliveries faster and with fewer issues.

Grubhub and Amazon’s partnership started in 2022, offering Amazon Prime members Grubhub+ memberships, valued at $120 annually. The latest integration builds on this, helping Grubhub to activate new customers through Amazon’s ecosystem. Just Eat Takeaway CEO Jitse Groen highlighted this during a July earnings call, saying, “It provides us with a far easier way to activate these customers.” Amazon also gained warrants for over 2% of Grubhub’s equity as part of their agreement, strengthening the alliance.
