Grubhub has expanded its Campus Dining to over 360 schools, reaching 500K new students. The company now serves 4.5M students. With the addition of delivery robots and Just Walk Out technology, the service is growing faster than ever.
Grubhub has grown its Campus Dining program to more than 360 schools across the U.S., a 21% increase from last year. The expansion includes new partnerships with universities like Alabama at Birmingham, Missouri, and Tulane, adding 500K students and increasing the total to over 4.5M. Grubhub's campus integration allows students to easily access dining options and manage meal plan balances through its app.
Grubhub is also expanding its use of delivery robots, partnering with Cartken, Kiwibot, and Starship. Currently, robots deliver food on 20 campuses, including Ohio State and Notre Dame. This fall, robot delivery will expand to a dozen more schools like the University of Mississippi and the University of Houston. These robots aim to streamline delivery, making it faster and more efficient for students.
In 2023, Grubhub introduced Amazon's Just Walk Out technology on select campuses. This tech lets students skip checkout lines at campus stores, with payments automatically deducted from their meal plans. Schools like Stevens Institute of Technology and Montclair State University have already adopted it. New schools, including the University of Virginia, will implement it this fall, further enhancing the dining experience.
"We're proud to play a role in how students and faculty dine," said Rob DelaCruz, VP and general manager of Grubhub Campus. As Grubhub continues to innovate with technology and expand its reach, the company is set to further revolutionize campus dining. With the continuous growth of Campus Dining, Grubhub shows no signs of slowing down, aiming to make dining on campus more efficient and enjoyable.
