eBay introduces a new "resell on eBay" feature integrated into Certilogo's smart labels, allowing users to list clothing with just a few clicks. Save The Duck is the first brand to pilot this feature starting May. This initiative aims to foster a pre-loved fashion marketplace and reduce landfill waste.
eBay has announced a new "resell on eBay" feature, allowing users to list their clothing on eBay with just a few clicks. This feature is embedded in Certilogo's smart labels, part of eBay's commitment to the circular fashion economy. Save The Duck, an Italian outerwear brand, will be the first to pilot this feature starting May. eBay plans to expand this service to other brands using Certilogo's Digital ID soon.
When a user scans the QR code on a product's smart label, a "resell on eBay" button appears. By clicking this button, users are directed to Certilogo's AI-based authentication system. After signing in with their eBay account and completing the authentication, an eBay listing is pre-filled with information from the brand. Users can then edit and finalize the listing on eBay.
"Reducing friction and removing barriers to engaging in recommerce is crucial," said Charis Marquez, Global GM of Fashion at eBay. "Our new resell feature helps brands keep their product out of landfill." Michele Casucci, CEO of Certilogo, added, "This new feature makes the circular shopping experience more accessible." Save The Duck CEO, Nicolas Bargi, emphasized, "Ensuring maximum transparency to our community is of utmost importance."
eBay acquired Certilogo in July 2023 to boost pre-owned authentication through its AI-powered Digital ID technology. This technology helps brands manage garment lifecycles and offers consumers a seamless way to engage with brands, confirm authenticity, and activate circular services. eBay continues to innovate, having launched a customized listing flow for sneakers and an AI-driven listing tool last year.
