DHL Freight just cut the ribbon on its new 5,200 m² terminal in Berlin-Marienfelde. The facility features 48 loading docks and replaces the old site that had hit capacity limits. With a central location, it improves last-mile delivery and strengthens DHL’s European network.

DHL is serious about green logistics. The terminal runs on solar power, wind energy, and a heat pump system. It has EV charging stations and rainwater harvesting. Electric and natural gas trucks are already in operation, making freight transport more eco-friendly.

Strategically placed in south Berlin, the new hub optimizes transport connections. It speeds up LTL and FTL shipments while testing new logistics solutions. Dr. Thomas Vogel, CEO of DHL Freight DACH, UK & IE, says the facility “creates double value for our customers and the environment.”
🏗️ Built in Record Time
Construction began in November 2023, and in just 14 months, the 20,000 m² site transformed into a state-of-the-art freight terminal. Developed by Operatio GmbH and Bremer Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH, it replaces the old downtown facility, ensuring a stronger logistics footprint in Berlin-Brandenburg.
