Chrono24 introduces a new authentication service, "Certified," for luxury watches over $1K, bolstering buyer confidence in the used watch market.
Chrono24 has officially launched its authentication program, "Certified," aimed at enhancing trust and security in the pre-owned luxury watch market. Starting in Europe with a U.S. debut slated for early summer, Certified will offer rigorous checks for watches priced over $1K. This move by Chrono24 could reshape market dynamics by prioritizing authenticity.
The authentication involves both professional and private sellers. Watches are verified by expert watchmakers either prior to listing or before shipping, with a focus on authenticity, functionality, and theft checks. The service costs about $216, is optional for private sellers, and aims to establish a new standard in the luxury watch market.
Every verified watch receives a digital Certificate of Authenticity and a distinctive green “C” icon on Chrono24’s platform. This program not only adds a layer of security but also enhances the purchasing experience by allowing buyers to make informed decisions. Customers benefit from the platform's comprehensive Buyer Protection program.
"The largest selection of certified watches now available," states Chrono24 CEO Carsten Keller. With the introduction of Certified, Chrono24 aims to lead the market with transparent and reliable services, potentially setting a new industry benchmark that could influence how luxury watches are bought and sold online.
