Bum Seok Austin Kim has been named CEO of Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok (Baemin), South Korea’s largest delivery app. The announcement was made on January 2, 2025, by Berlin-based parent company Delivery Hero. Kim succeeds Pieter-Jan Vandepitte, who served as interim CEO since July 2024. With his proven expertise in platform businesses, Kim is expected to strengthen Woowa’s position in Korea’s competitive delivery market.
Kim’s resume highlights his leadership in launching and scaling global delivery services. He played pivotal roles at Uber and Glovo in Turkey and was the founding CEO of Trendyol Go, a major Turkish e-commerce platform. This international experience aligns with Woowa’s mission of innovation. Pieter-Jan Vandepitte praised Kim’s track record, saying it sets a strong foundation for growth and customer satisfaction.
