Amazon Fresh has added four new supermarkets, including its first Northern California location. The new stores in California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania offer advanced shopping tech and local products, bringing the chain close to 50 locations nationwide.
Amazon Fresh opened four new stores on Thursday, expanding its reach across the U.S. The new supermarkets include the first Northern California location in Roseville and additional stores in Tinley Park, Illinois; Lodi, New Jersey; and Bensalem, Pennsylvania. These openings bring Amazon Fresh's total to nearly 50 stores across eight states, showing a steady growth in Amazon's brick-and-mortar footprint.
The new stores span approximately 40,000 square feet each. Locations include 6780 Stanford Ranch Road, Roseville, CA; 16017 S. Harlem Ave., Tinley Park, IL; 2 Memorial Drive, Lodi, NJ; and 1837 Street Road, Bensalem, PA. Each store offers Amazon's high-tech Dash Cart and Amazon One palm-recognition system, enhancing the shopping experience. Customers will find international foods, grab-and-go meals, and local products like Alvarado Street Bakery and Equator Coffees in Roseville.
Amazon Fresh is pushing savings initiatives at these new stores. Shoppers can save up to 30% on 4,000 grocery items weekly. Additionally, Prime members enjoy 10% off on hundreds of extra items through the Prime Savings program. These discounts are available both in-store and online, offering flexibility and convenience for customers.
In 2024, Amazon has been proactive in expanding its grocery business. The company opened two new stores in New Jersey earlier this year, based on a format introduced last year in Chicago and Southern California. Additionally, Amazon launched two grocery subscription services in 2024, providing both monthly and annual options to enhance customer convenience. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to grow Amazon Fresh and enhance the value of Prime membership.
