Amazon Ads unveiled AI Creative Studio and Audio Generator at unBoxed 2024. These tools simplify ad creation by using AI to generate content, from images to audio, in minutes. Early users saw a 5% sales increase from AI-powered ads.
At unBoxed 2024, Amazon Ads introduced AI Creative Studio, a new tool that empowers brands to generate display, video, and audio ads. Advertisers can upload a product shot, select a concept, and automatically generate dynamic ad creatives. Jay Richman, Vice President of Creative Experiences, said this would "transform how brands connect with customers." AI Creative Studio offers unlimited storage for creative assets, making it easier for brands to build, refresh, and activate campaigns across formats like Prime Video and Amazon.com.
Amazon Ads also launched Audio Generator, designed to create 30-second interactive audio ads in minutes. Advertisers input product info, and the tool creates a voiceover script with selectable voice, tone, and music. Available in beta, Audio Generator helps brands reach audiences on Alexa-enabled devices. Richman added, “this is just the beginning” of AI-powered creative innovations. Like Image and Video Generator, this tool makes audio advertising accessible to brands of all sizes at no additional cost.
These AI tools are part of a broader set of solutions aimed at optimizing full-funnel performance. Amazon Ads launched features like conversion path reporting, allowing advertisers to view the top paths to purchase over 30 days. Paula Despins, VP of Ads Measurement, said Amazon aims to be the most "customer-obsessed advertising service" by simplifying the process of using insights to drive business growth. Brands can now access both immediate sales and long-term impact metrics.
Early users of these AI-powered tools, like Honest Kitchen, saw substantial performance improvements. By adjusting ad frequency using Amazon’s optimal frequency AMC solution, the brand increased impressions by 23% and product page views by 44%, while maintaining the same budget. Other brands that used the AI Image Generator between October 2023 and June 2024 reported an average 5% boost in sales. These new capabilities help brands reach customers at every stage of the marketing funnel with minimal resources.
