Allbirds, known for sustainability, will offer shoe deliveries through Uber Eats. Starting near stores in San Francisco, LA, Chicago, and New York, Uber Eats will use bikes and EVs for eco-friendly last-mile delivery. This expands Allbirds’ distribution efforts after launching on Amazon in 2023.
Allbirds has teamed up with Uber Eats to bring its sustainable shoes to customers even faster. The new on-demand delivery option will roll out in key cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. It’s a first for Uber Eats to partner with a footwear brand. The goal is to provide a more convenient shopping experience, according to Allbirds CEO Joe Vernachio, who said, “We’re excited to offer added convenience through Uber Eats.”
This partnership is part of Uber Eats’ new "Climate Collection," promoting eco-friendly brands. To ensure sustainability, Uber Eats will prioritize couriers using bicycles or electric vehicles for deliveries. Uber’s senior VP of delivery, Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty, emphasized the company’s commitment to making sustainable choices easier: “At Uber, we’re aiming to make sustainable choices easier in everyday life.”
Allbirds has been focusing on expanding its distribution. In 2023, the brand launched on Amazon to boost its presence in the US market. The Uber Eats partnership is part of this larger strategy to optimize distribution. Allbirds also partners with retailers like REI, Nordstrom, and Scheels, and increased its marketing budget in 2024 to drive brand awareness before new product launches in 2025.
For now, the Uber Eats partnership will focus on cities with existing Allbirds stores, but there’s potential to expand the service to more locations. Allbirds and Uber will continue to explore ways to make deliveries greener and more efficient. Customers can expect faster access to eco-friendly footwear while supporting sustainability initiatives.
