🚀 New Pickup Service Launch
On July 15, Aldi Süd started a new service for its customers. They can now use pickup stations for their grocery orders. This update comes after the 2023 delivery service launch. Customers can choose to shop online or offline, and then pick up their groceries at a scheduled time. This service is especially helpful for those with fixed work hours.
📅 How It Works
The process is simple: register, select the pickup service, choose a station, add items to the cart, pick a date and time, and then collect the groceries. Aldi even provides shopping bags. If you don't need them, you can leave them for reuse or recycling. Until July 24, the minimum order value is 20 EUR to use the service for free. After this period, it will be 50 EUR.
🌍 Limited Availability
Currently, the service is not available in all cities. For example, Duisburg is excluded, requiring customers to go to Mülheim or Düsseldorf. This makes traditional shopping a more practical option for some. Customers can only pick up orders the day after placing them.
📈 Future Plans
Aldi Süd has stated that the pickup service is a test and may not expand further. According to the company, they aim to gather initial experiences from this pilot project. The same applies to the delivery service, which started in 2023 in Duisburg, Mülheim, and Oberhausen. The test regions will remain limited for now.
