Wing and DoorDash expand drone delivery to Dallas-Fort Worth, offering 15-minute food drops from 50 local merchants. Wing drones travel at 65 mph, serving eligible addresses via the DoorDash app. The partnership began in Australia in 2022.
Wing, Alphabet's drone delivery company, is teaming up with DoorDash to expand their drone delivery service to Dallas-Fort Worth. Starting December 18, customers can order food from 50 merchants at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and Hulen Mall in Fort Worth. This builds on their successful 2022 partnership in Australia, with over 400,000 deliveries worldwide so far.
Wing drones can deliver food to doorsteps in just 15 minutes, cruising at 65 mph and 150 feet above ground. Customers with eligible addresses can select drone delivery in the DoorDash app. Orders are typically small, and large orders may require multiple drones. Check eligibility on Wing's website.
Wing and DoorDash first tested drone deliveries in March 2024 in Christiansburg, Virginia. Wing also collaborates with Walmart and Walgreens in the U.S. to expand drone-based logistics. These partnerships aim to offer faster, more efficient delivery options, making Wing a leader in commercial drone use.
“This partnership focuses on delivering convenience and speed,” Wing stated. As drone technology advances, both companies aim to redefine customer experiences. With drone delivery growing rapidly, Dallas-Fort Worth is a strategic step forward in modern logistics innovation.
