Walmart Canada has teamed up with DoorDash to provide on-demand delivery from over 300 Supercentres across 10 provinces. The partnership, announced on November 26, 2024, offers millions of Canadians fast access to groceries and merchandise through the DoorDash platform. Walmart's VP, Ignacio Baladron, stated this collaboration supports customers with busy schedules, especially during the holiday season, while advancing Walmart’s goal of becoming Canada’s top omnichannel retailer.
Shoppers can now access Walmart’s extensive inventory through DoorDash, including private labels like Great Value, Equate, and Mainstays. Products range from fresh produce to electronics. DoorDash offers real-time updates, allowing customers to add items until a Dasher starts shopping. This feature adds flexibility and convenience, making it easier to meet last-minute needs.
All Walmart Supercentres on DoorDash are available on DashPass, DoorDash’s subscription service. Subscribers benefit from $0 delivery fees and reduced service charges on eligible orders. DoorDash General Manager Shilpa Arora emphasized how this partnership integrates seamlessly into families’ weekly routines, enhancing access to essentials with savings and convenience.
Canadians from Alberta to Newfoundland can now enjoy the benefits of this collaboration. Over 80% of DoorDash users in Canada have immediate access to Walmart deliveries, which include general merchandise and grocery items. As demand for online shopping rises, this initiative highlights Walmart and DoorDash's commitment to meeting customer needs nationwide.
