Swiggy’s Bolt service is now in 400 Indian cities. It partners with 40K+ restaurants, including KFC and McDonald’s, for 10-minute deliveries. Using a 2-km radius strategy, Bolt aims to regain market share from Zomato.
Swiggy has expanded its 10-minute delivery service, Bolt, to over 400 cities across India. Initially launched in major metros like Bengaluru and Mumbai, Bolt now serves smaller cities such as Jaipur and Shillong. The service focuses on delivering items with minimal preparation time from restaurants within a 2-kilometer radius of customers. This rapid expansion follows Swiggy's recent IPO and signals its ambition to dominate India's quick-commerce market.
Swiggy has collaborated with over 40,000 restaurants, including global giants like KFC, McDonald’s, and Starbucks, to ensure Bolt's success. These partnerships help optimize the process, enabling fast deliveries without pressuring drivers. Customers now enjoy quicker access to meals from their favorite local and international brands, enhancing their dining experience.
With Bolt, Swiggy aims to regain market share lost to its chief rival, Zomato. The 10-minute delivery model positions Swiggy as a leader in India's booming quick-commerce space, which grew by over 100% last year. Competitors like Zomato’s Blinkit and Zepto are also reshaping customer expectations for faster deliveries, making this a highly competitive space.
Unlike traditional orders, Bolt uses strategic restaurant partnerships and operates within a tight 2-kilometer radius to ensure quick service. Interestingly, delivery partners are unaware if an order is from Bolt, ensuring no pressure for speed. Instead, efficiency is achieved through technology and planning. This operational model sets Swiggy apart in the market, appealing to customers without compromising delivery partners' well-being.
